Minister Lynn Turner of Deer Park, Texas, performs pet weddings and other animal-related services in addition to her normal roles as a minister. She first began conducting animal events after a request by Special Pals, a local animal rescue group. Reverend Turner often officiates over cat ceremonies. She said when it was time to exchange kisses at the end of one memorable ceremony, the bride slapped the groom! This was not the first time something like this happened; in the pet nuptial world, holy muttrimony is much easier than a cat connection.
Reverend Turner's pet wedding ceremonies usually last about thirty minutes. They begin with a traditional bridal march processional, end with a recessional, and are followed by a reception. She even uses unique "Bow Wow Vow" or "Meow Vows" for services. When asked for tips, Reverend Turner said, "Dogs and cats don't do well together in mixed ceremonies." Still, she performs group weddings successfully despite feline and canine misgivings..."
